Decarbonize Our Trucking Operations

Lowering the scope 1 emissions of our trucking operations through the purchase of carbon offsets, fueling with blended bio fuels and making investments in low and negative carbon fuel solutions. Further, we stay up to date on advancements in combustion engines including replacing diesel with CNG as a fuel source.

02

Reducing Our Operating Carbon Footprint

  • We’ve invested in solar panels at select terminals in our network as part of our Net-Zero Terminals model.
  • We have made investments in technologies that have allowed us to decarbonize our administrative functions.
  • We are targeting and implementing strategies in regions where electrical and transportation costs are not offset with carbon taxes/levies to reduce carbon intensity.

03

New Ventures

  • Through investments and new partnerships, we are working on projects to convert municipal waste and stranded gases to low and no carbon fuels.
  • We are reforming hydrocarbons to hydrogen at the consumption point, reducing the burden of transportation.

NGL Sustainability Partnerships

NGL Supply Co. Ltd. is an active investor in MAAT Energy, an MIT spinout formed with the vision of using microwave energy to reform hydrocarbons into low carbon energy.

MAAT Energy

We are making investments in a low carbon future.

MAAT Energy

  • MAAT designed an Atmospheric Microwave Plasma (AMP) reformer. This novel technology uses small scalable reactors to reform methane, ethane, propane or butane into blue hydrogen, syngas and carbon black.
  • By combining the modular MAAT pyrolysis technology with our logistical and commercial networks, we can use energy dense propane and butane as a delivery mechanism for hydrogen.
  • MAAT’s dry reforming technology utilizes captured CO2 to produce syngas with has the potential to scale into future production of chemicals and fuels.

NGL Supply Co. Ltd. has made an investment and has a commercial partnership with Burcell to convert municipal waste into renewable energy.

Burcell

Burcell

  • The BurCell® System dramatically reduces the dwell time of processing municipal waste, creating an efficient production of renewable natural gas, biomass, and biogenic CO2.
  • Additional benefits include a 85% reduction of municipal waste going to landfills, providing a much needed relief to the local municipalities and environment.
  • We are currently in operation, with additional approved projects under construction.

r-LPG demand is growing nationwide in attempt to reduce the overall carbon intensity of our day to day activities. The carbon intensity score of renewable propane is over 50% lower than that of conventional propane.

Renewable Propane

Renewable Propane

  • We deliver renewable propane produced from 100% renewable raw feedstocks, such as waste fats and oils, all across the United States.
  • This is an important low carbon solution for propane fueled combustion engines or as blend for home heating applications.

Millions of people rely on propane for resilient, always-on energy that is independent from the electric grid.
